Frequently Asked Questions

Why do photographers not share all photos taken on the day?

“It's like taking 100 selfies and only keeping 3 good ones and the rest to be deleted.

All photographers have this problem... Not all pictures are captured as planned. The photos we share represent our work, therefore we would not want to share images that we as photographers feel are not up to our standard or expectation.

Here are some examples of "Out-of-Camera" photos.”

Why does it take weeks before I receive my pictures?

“As photographers, we work through all the pictures taken on the day and only selecting the best of the best. We then edited each photo individually which can take up to 20min per picture. Often we have more than one photoshoot a week. Most photoshoots take place on the weekends, which means we need to do editing during the week in the evenings as we have full-time jobs during the day.

We want to ensure that we provide you with the best quality work and”

Yes we do! We understand that life happens, therefore to secure your booking we require a deposit and the balance can be paid at your convenience.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

There are soo many! Keep in mind as a photographer you only have 1 chance to capture emotion, special moments and that amazing profile pic. Let me tell you the things that could have an influence and are the common challenges:

1.Weather

2.Location - especially indoors with poor lighting.

3.People - guests or onlookers who get in the way or has brought their own camera / tablet / phone to take picture

4.Malfunctioning gear

Our goal is to provide you with the best quality pictures, but unfortunately not all pictures are perfect.

Should I book a session even if I don't know how to pose?

Yes! We are here to help. Having fun is what our sessions are all about. We do assist with posing ideas but encourage our clients to have fun and try new things. Often it is the weirder poses that are the best!

Why should I tag the photographer in my post?

This helps grow our small photography business. People tend to make use of businesses which their friends and family recommend, talk about or refer to.

What type of photography do you specialise in?

I specialise in portrait photography. Even though I am both a Lifestyle & Wedding Photographer, you will notice that my portraits are just a little bit prettier than the rest. I also love doing Nature Photography.

How would you define your style?

Colourful and unique to each session. My style reflects my personality. I love being colourful, bright and have fun. Each photoshoot session is unique, even if it's with the same client, therefore the editing techniques and feel of each session is different.

In terms of editing, what can you NOT do?

I want to be as honest and transparent as I can be, these are the things I cannot do:

  1. Make you look younger
  2. Edit away wrinkles
  3. Change your body size
  4. Change your skin colour
  5. Change the background in post editing
  6. Get in focus photos of drunk guests
  7. Take bright photo's in dark locations
  8. Fix the make up colouring
  9. Edit in open eyes on people
  10. Be at two locations at the same time

Quantity or Quality, which is more mportant?

There are indeed a good selection and variety of photographers in that offer photoshoot packages in the same price range. Take the time to view their work before just choosing the cheaper photographer offering more images or the more expensive photographer which seems too good to be true.

As the client, you need to choose which is more important: quality or quantity. This can only be done by viewing the portfolio of each photographer, comparing packages and deciding if you rather have a lot of images that are "okay" or a few images which are of good quality.

Why do I not receive all the photo's taken during the session?

As photographers, we do get a lot of pictures during one session, however, they are not all of good quality.

Reason 2: Our packages only include a certain amount of edited pictures. Should you receive more, lucky you!

Reason 3: People are interesting… Should we as photographers send all the photo’s taken during the session with some stunning photo’s, people get fixated on those that did not come out as planned. This then results in people saying “Just know not all your photo’s will be good” to potential clients.

Reason 4: These photo’s represent my work and if they are not up to my standard as photographer, they will not be shared.
